SUBMARINE ESCAPE DRIFT TRIAL

The purpose of this exercise was to measure how far the single-man liferafts drifted in the currents and to calculate the time it would take to locate survivors.  Volunteers were set adrift at intervals similar to the length of time it would take submariners to escape from a DISSUB and they rapidly dispursed over a wide area.
