2 weeks on, DNA tests help identify 6 submarine sailors

Two weeks after explosions destroyed INS Sindhurakshak killing 18 of its crew members, the Kalina-based Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) on Thursday through DNA fingerprinting confirmed the identity of six of the 10 bodies recovered from the ill-fated submarine.

The six sailors are Vishnu V from Pallippad in Alappuzha, Liju Lawrence from Nevyar in Thiruvanthapuram, Seetaram Badapalli and Rajesh Tootika from Andhra Pradesh, Kewal Singh from Udhampur and Malay Haldar from Durgapur.
