14 vessels in NATO Baltic Sea exercises: report

WARSAW, May 14 (Xinhua) — A total of 14 vessels, including three submarines, took part in NATO military exercises "NATO Dynamic Monarch 2014" hosted by Poland in Gdansk Bay, the Baltic Sea, the PAP news agency reported on Wednesday.

 

Started on Monday and set to last for two weeks, the exercises mainly aim to practice actions associated with rescuing submarine crew members, the report said.

 

Military and civilian emergency services from, among others, France, Israel, Germany, Sweden, Turkey, the United States, Poland and Britain participated in the exercises.

 

Moreover, three submarines, from Poland, the Netherlands and Sweden, respectively, took part in the exercises, accompanied by 11 vessels from participating countries as well as several air units.
