Rolls-Royce Wins GBP 35 Mln Contract To Develop Offshore Vessel – Quick Facts

Rolls-Royce Holdings plc (RR.L,RYCEY.PK) Thursday said it has secured a contract worth 35 million pounds to design and equip a large offshore support vessel for Norwegian ship owner Island Offshore.

 

Roll-Royce will use the UT 797 CX design, which includes a 250 ton offshore crane, Remotely Operated Vessels (ROV's) and a large moonpool. The vessel, named Island Victory, will be 123 meters long, have a deck area of 1100 sq. m, and enough room for 110 people.

 

The design will help Island Victory perform heavy anchor handling operations and deep subsea installation work.

 

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled in the second quarter of 2016.
