Oceaneering to Support Decommissioning Project Offshore Brazil

Oceaneering International announces its Offshore Projects Group (OPG) segment has won a contract from Ocyan to support a decommissioning project offshore Brazil. The scope of work includes subsea specialized tooling to perform the decommissioning of subsea infrastructure related to three floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessels offshore Brazil.

Oceaneering will provide specialized personnel, ROV decommissioning tooling, and technical support to cut and remove the assets. Slated to begin Q1 2023, the contract covers subsea tools to enable the decommissioning of flexible pipes and umbilicals in Campos and Sergipe-Alagoas basins.

It has a firm duration of one year with options to extend and demonstrates Oceaneering’s ability to service decommissioning work scopes in Brazil.

Ricardo Frazão, Commercial Director, Oceaneering said: “This achievement highlights Oceaneering’s strong position in Brazil as a trusted services provider. Offshore decommissioning demand is expected to rise in the next 10 years in Brazil as assets are taken out of service. Oceaneering offers more than tooling and services; we have the flexibility to offer engineering solutions to support our clients and develop their projects from beginning to end.”
